I've been struggling with glandular fever for ages, it's so nasty, the worst I've ever been in my life - I'm usually really healthy!
I hope that you and Toby recover soon. Nasty viruses around... :(

Treat yourself and Toby to lots of Vitamin C - that might do the trick! Usually gets rid of flu/cold things quickly, that and lots of tea of course - not that Toby needs an excuse to have more tea! ;)

I have never seen anyone drink so much tea, I have to admit! Maybe Toby should be in the Guiness Book of Records?
Get him a bucket and a straw for his tea ;)

Any type of tea or just one specific one? Really, I think he could get famous for this. See the amazing Tea drinking Toby :) You could make lots of money...

PS: I meant to say 'worth' not 'worse' in previous comment! Silly me...

Yeah, I know loads of people in London (been living there since 1999), it's crap when you keep worrying for peoples' safety :( London is my home, it just feels like they have violated that which I love :(
Well, 9/11 happened before the war, so the world wasn't a safe place then either... but I guess the UK might have been better off if it hadn't joined the war, but equally, you can't really let a dictator terrorise a country and just sit and watch him doing it. But going to war and killing so many innocent people isn't such a good idea either... they should have worked more with intelligence and snipers or something, but I guess there were too many of the terrorists around. I dunno, either way you loose really. I keep wondering about what they should do, but there just isn't an easy way out of these sort of situations I guess.
I've known Amber for years and years, we went to College together in Oxford and then we went to UCL together (not the same year or course though). She's ok, she cycles to work, so she ought to be fine!! Maybe we should all cycle, then what would the terrorists do - ha!!
There was a program on TV where they said they did not have the technology at the moment to scan everyone and that most of the tube stations were so small that it would be impossible to fit anything else in there... all they can do is get more cameras at the moment apparently until there is better technology.
This situation sucks mightily!!! :(

Yeah 9/11 was before the war... but i think these things all mount up, and we have not done a good job with siding with bush but im no expert.
Cool I like Amber shes nice, we went to this Indian resturant.. when she was studying near me. Took a train down to see her and dave... I think thats his name see terrible with names too lol. It was the worse Indian resturdant i have ever been to. They were giving women flowers to make up for the crap service, we waited ages to get food... and i got the wrong rice that i wanted, and it was very cramped. Then on the way back my flower just kept falling apart bit by bit lol. Yes i agree the situation sucks!

Yeah, Amber's boyfriend is called Dave... too many people called Dave around, it gets very confusing, everyone seems to know about 5 people called Dave, so when you talk about a Dave you first have to specify which one you mean these days!! lol...
Well, not being British I am not allowed to vote in the National British elections, so I have no say in what happens - and to be honest, because of this I don't pay much attention when British politics are discussed, as I can't change it anyway. Whether Blair is the right person or not... I dunno, I find it hard to believe anything politicians say these days anyway. They all seem to promise lots of great things (this is true for other countries too of course) and then when they are elected little actually happens.
Maybe before returning to London I need to get a sign that reads 'try not to bomb me, I'm an atheist and my country did not take part in the war', but I doubt it would help!!!
I'm not a big fan of Indian food, I prefer Japanese and Chinese. It's so yummy. Indian food can be nice, but I don't like many of the spices they use, so I am usually cautious when it comes to Indian food. Remind me not to go to the place you mentioned if I am ever near it!! ;)

Yes, Toby has many a time had to say which Dave or which James etc that hes talking about. Even more confuing when he adds, for example Dave bastured or le Dave lol. :)

Thats a bit off not being allowed to vote. But trouble is theres not really anyone you could vote for these days. They are all pretty terrible.

Yeah, Japanse food and Chinese is nice.. we have a wagamammas in canterbury now. Not been, but went to the one in Tunbrige wells. We unfortunatly came when it was bring your kids hour. So the nice silence was broken, it was fine when we sat at our table. But little did we know it was to be cursed! lol

I shall remind you never to go near that place. It was so bad i have even forgotten the name of it. but all i know is that i think its in Wye. But the pub we went to b4 and after was good, should of had food there lol.

I think it's fair enought that I can't vote, what with not being British. I mean, if anyone could vote, it wouldn't really be your country, would it. Besides, I can vote in my country's elections, so I get to vote there - I think voting in two countries would just confuse me anyway lol... Even if I wanted to become British I don't think they would let me, because it's all EU now and we all have the same rights mostly, so it doesn't make that much of a difference (ie. if you are from an EU member state you can work and live anywhere in the EU). I think they only consider your "I want to become British" application if you have a real reason for why you cannot be whatever you were before and have to be British or something. But I don't know for sure, I never checked...

Yeah, most politicians just talk shit and promise stuff which never happens. You kind of have to find the one that lies the least. I think many countries have this problem and people hence feel disillusioned - ie. what's the point??

My French friend told me that she could not get an English passport for her kid (which was born in England and has an English father). For years they were making up excuses, and then she just said fuck it... and went to the French embassy and they immediately gave her one. So she could finally go to France and show her kid to her family! Now her kid still has a French passport even though he has lived in England all his life and thinks of himself as British!! It's kind of weird... Bureaucracy is fucked up!!!

Wagamama is lovely. Drak and I go there all the time when we can hehe... it's great because he is a vegetarian and it's one of the only places where he actually has a choice of what he can eat (a lot of other places only offer vegetarian lasagne!!).

Yes i enjoyed the food there. There was not alot to have for dessert, everything had ginger in it. But there was this very rish chocolate cake mmmmmmm. Im not sure if the dessert menue is the same for every wagamama resturant.

July 25 2005, 20:46:46 UTC 6 years ago

In London they always have a 'specials' menu. They change it quite often. (more reason to go there! ;)
I'm not a big fan of ginger either, but I can usually find something on the menu for dessert that I like. However, by that stage I am usually too stuffed to eat anything else, so I seldomly have dessert. Even though I am quite tall, I can't actually eat very much in one go I have discovered!!! There are these short little people eating piles and piles and me going... can't... eat... anymore... going... to... explode... lol...
Especially if it's sweet. Drak and Dave are always amazed how long I can make a bar of chocolate last lol... with them it disappears in like a day and I can make it last for like a month. If I eat too much in one go of something sweet, I just start feeling really sick...

[info]lilith253

July 26 2005, 09:00:09 UTC 6 years ago

lol, i thought i could manage dessert...but i had to get Toby to finish it. He is known round here to be the dustbin lol.

Theres this really tall tech geek, and hes always hungry i guess its got a long way to go from mouth to stomach lol. But never puts on weight grrr! lol. But im a chocoholic yet i can manage without it if i set my mind to it. But when i have not had chocolate for a while, and then eat its so good lmao.

July 26 2005, 12:34:15 UTC 6 years ago

Yeah, lol, what are boyfriends for ey? You can always count on them to finish your food lol... Drak has been known to almost explode a couple of times in Wagamamas lol... ;)
I lost quite a lot of weight due to excessive vomiting when I first got ill with glandular fever, it was not nice - I was just too thin, bones sticking out everywhere... :( I'm better now though, almost look human again ;) (or as much as I ever did!)

[info]lilith253

July 26 2005, 15:02:40 UTC 6 years ago

lol yeah, well Toby is always trying to steal my food even though i can manage to eat it... but i give in. Thats love for you i guess lmao. Drak explodeing in wagamamas!... Blimey that must be something to see lol. :)

[info]elisabeth_9

July 28 2005, 14:22:57 UTC 6 years ago

Aww, how sweet :) It's great that you and Toby get on so well :)
Drak often claims he will explode, it's not happened yet though! lol...
I'd rather he didn't personally! I think it's because he eats so fast that his brain can't keep up with his stomach so by the time the brain goes 'full', he has already eaten way too much lol...

[info]lilith253

July 28 2005, 15:30:57 UTC 6 years ago

:) yeah we get on really well which is good :)
No i dont think you would want that to happen lol plus it would be messy :S
Hmmm is he dangerous at a all you can eat resturant?!

[info]elisabeth_9

July 29 2005, 11:28:34 UTC 6 years ago

Depends whether it is vegetarian or not... usually places don't have that much in the way of vegetarian food, so it's ok lol... but he is a bit dangerous anyway lol, in his own little way... ;)
